Affiliate Programs and Article Marketing

One of the common methods of making money online is by affiliate programs. You can choose to be a reseller of a product by having an affiliate ID. If the product is purchased via your affiliate ID, you receive your share of the sale. This is a great method: the product provider has a wide range of “resellers” and he only pays when there is a purchase. Win-win.

Usually the product provider issues an affiliate link for the reseller that leads to the pitch page of the product. The URL will look something like www.affproductexample.com/affID=3453. This way the reseller is identified and gets the money when the product is sold from within this page.

The product provider also supplies the reseller with marketing materials. Banners, ads, texts and more.

It seems like the life of the affiliate marketer is easy, right? Well not exactly…

Most affiliate marketers are LAZY. Yes, I said it. They take the written material as it is and the affiliate link as it is, and just spray them around the internet like a huge messy net that will catch maybe one tiny fish.

When we see those repetitive texts and links on ArticlesBase we regard them as spam. Those articles have no value to our readers, not to mention they are duplicates over duplicates over duplicates. Even if we happen to publish those, readers are quick to identify the spam behind it.

Listen carefully to our advice: If you are an affiliate marketer reselling products, do it right. Set up a website or a blog, study the products you are reselling, write serious and informative reviews, and publish those on ArticlesBase as well with links to your site. We do not allow direct affiliate links or duplicate content.

Readers will take you more seriously and be more prone to actually buy the product through your affiliate ID.

If you want to read more about affiliate programs, maybe our authors can help.

Go get them tigers! ;)

  1. How come I see many Article Base articles with (semi) direct affiliate links. For example they use http://proceedto.info but it links immediately to the affiliate website and not someones own site. Is this a sneaky way to get around the rules? Or is this allowed?
